unical portal hacked

A recent trend in Nigeria is the systematic hacking and defacing of websites of institutions and organizations, with tertiary institutions been the worst hit.

I was alerted by a friend some minutes ago that the website of the prestigious University of Calabar, popularly know as UNICAL is currently treating visitors to "Bend Down Select", a song by Young Jon Featuring Lil Kesh  with on-screen dancers to complete the groove. What my friend was saying in plain words is that hackers who called themselves "$_naijaGHOST$" hacked the website and and defaced it with the above image. The hackers did not stop at defacing the site but added animations and XXX video (pornographic video) to the homepage with a sound track to go with it. (see full pix after the cut- NB-- 18+ only)

How to detect plastic rice

Because of the numerous health risks of ingesting plastic rice, its therefore expedient that we know how to differentiate between real rice and the plastic version.
There are several ways to do this and they are very easy to perform. The include but are not limited to:
1. WATER TEST: Take one glass or bowl of water and drop some rice in it, then stir. If the rice is fake, it will float at the top because the fake rice will definitely float in water as most plastics do.
2. FIRE TEST: Take rice and simply burn it. If any rice is made with plastic then it will come out with the plastic smell and most will melt.
3. MOULD TEST: Simply boil some of the rice, then just leave it like 2-3 days without refrigerating or warming it . If rice is plastic, then it will not have fungi as it will remain same.
4. BOILING TEST: Observe rice during the boiling time. If it's plastic, it will form a thick layer at the top of the pan.
These tricks are simple and easy, so you can try them at home. Plastic Rice can be found out very easily. Be careful as it can cause so many health implications, please let's be wise this yuletide season and all round.
5.HOT OIL TEST: Take some rice and drop into very hot oil. If its a plastic rice, the rice will melt and stick together under the pot or container.

Now that you know, Pass it on and save lives and money. Don't forget to comment and let your voice be heard.

Plastic Rice - chifysworld.blogspot.com

The Federal Operations Unit, Ikeja, of the Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted 102 bags of plastic rice branded “Beat Tomato Rice’’ with no date of manufacture.
The Customs Area Controller of  F.O.U. Comptroller Mohammed Haruna, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Lagos.
He said that the commodity was stored for distribution as Yuletide gifts for the public.
Haruna said that officers of the unit intercepted the plastic rice along Ikeja area on Monday, adding that a suspect was arrested in connection with the seizure.
“Before now, I thought it was a rumour that the plastic rice is all over the country but with this seizure, I have been totally convinced that such rice exists.
“We have done the preliminary analysis on the plastic rice. After boiling, it was sticky and only God knows what would have happened if people consumed it.
“I advise those economic saboteurs who see Yuletide season as a peak period for nefarious acts to desist from such illegal business.
“The unit has decided other operational modalities that will give them a run for their monies and count their losses,” NAN quoted the controller as saying.
He described smuggling as a global phenomenon, adding that such act could not be curbed entirely but could be brought to its barest minimum.
Haruna appreciated well-meaning Nigerians who provided the service with prompt information that led to the discovery of the bags of plastic rice.
The controller, however, advised the media to educate the public on the existence of plastic rice, adding that it was no longer a rumour.
Haruna assured Nigerians that the distribution point of the particular plastic rice seized by the unit had been blocked with immediate effect.
He said that investigation was still ongoing.
The controller said the unit would hand over the plastic rice to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control for proper investigation.

Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox
The fraudulent scheme called MMM that crashed in Nigeria with billions of Naira unaccounted for three days ago has surfaced in Kenya.  The scheme is promising Kenyans 40% return on investment which is 10% higher than what they used to lure Nigerians into the scheme. I don't know why their domains are not been taken down like they do with torrent site sand other illegal sites and businesses.
I wonder when our governments will learn to be proactive and put a stop to schemes like this before it gains ground and further weakens the economy and gets the citizens defrauded. Though it wont be wrong to insinuate that they have "godfathers" in government who has their back covered and are benefiting from the scheme. I was just insinuating based on a popular Igbo adage that says that "a wicked man is he that goes in to the bush and makes a scary sound, then comes out to the bush path and asked, WHO IS MAKING THAT NOISE"

Its time for Nigerians to learn the bitter truth that MMM is a problem that cushioned the effect of another problem, it was never a solution. Lets work hard, pray,  and hope for the best.

As for those whose funds are still frozen in the scheme, what ever happens; do not attempt/commit suicide. Learn the lessons well and move on. MMM didn't solve the problem, dying wont solve it too.

MMM Nigeria
The money-box scheme called MMM that started in Russia was introduced to Nigerians via  MMM Nigeria when the country was said to be at the peak of what many described as the worst recession in Nigeria's economic history. The economic hardship and the urge to get rich quick made a lot of Nigerians to rush into it and welcomed MMM as their only way to carter for themselves in a time where the exchange rates were hitting the roofs; hence most people failed to ask themselves some very important questions.

The former president of The Federal Republic Of Nigeria, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on his Facebook page appealed to the American Democrats that a protesting the emergence of   Donald J. Trump as the next president of the United States of America to let peace reign as The US is meant to be a model nation to others.
I appeal to Americans who are protesting on the streets after the emergence of Donald J. Trump as President-elect to give peace a chance. Democracy is all about accommodation and the United States is a model for the free world.
All democrats must value the process of democracy more than the product.
While exercising their rights, I plead with the Great American people not to do anything that will impinge on the old and cherished values and traditions of the US on democratic ethos.

It was one of those ordinary work days. I was sitting in front of my desktop seeming very busy yet being very bored. I was still engrossed in my pretend business when the security lady at the door appeared at my cubicle. "Aunty" she said "yes?" I replied "e get pesin wey dea find you;  e carry package come for you" I looked beyond her to see the delivery man carrying a package. He walked up to me and handed it to me along with a book for me to sign. I cautiously took the pack from him and signed for it. I asked who it was from but he said he didn't know. I waited for the duo to leave before tearing open the package, in it was a brand new iphone 6 with a pre loaded sim card and only one number saved on it. "creepy" I thought to my self, I  stared at  the phone because I couldn't make out what to do next  with the phone.  Then it rang and a startled me dropped the phone on the table. I was afraid to pick it and curious as well. I wanted to know who was on the other end of the other end of the phone line. I could feel the boring eyes of colleagues  on me. I picked up courage and slide the screen to take the call. "Hello" I said in a voice much more confident than I was at the time.

A lot of people have complained that their account has been hacked, somebody starts posting nude pictures and malicious links on your timeline. They chat up your Facebook friends asking for financial assistance that your mom or wife or one relative is sick and needs expensive medical assistance to survive....they spam and scam with your account and on your behalf. Yes, they destroy your social and corporate image. Who told you that an app can tell who your boyfriend or spouse will be or how many kids you will have or the number of cars you will have or probably read your so called zodiac signs and tell you how fortunate you are to be born on a particular date. The only truth that you will get from those app and zodiac signs is the fact that you are vulnerable. Yes its very obvious....I don't need a malicious app or a star gazer to tell me that. Your argument might be that you do it for fun. I feel your pain oo... because you are having fun at your own peril. The fact is  that most of those Apps are loaded with malware and if you are oblivious of what that is, a 'Malware' is an umbrella term used to refer to a variety of forms of hostile or intrusive software, including computer viruses, worms, Trojan horses, ransom-ware, spyware, adware, scareware, and other malicious programs. It can take the form of executable code, scripts, active content, and other software. There are millions of them that the antivirus can not even keep up with their evolution.
With that they can have access to your device and do what ever they wish. A lot of them are undetectable like the stealth "Keyloggers" and "The Extractors". While the Keylogger records every keystroke you make on you device and sends them to who ever it was programmed to communicate to, the "Extractor" records and transmits the content of every form you fill online. It means that it records and sends the  login details every account you have online. Which compromises your emails, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, your everything online.
The internet is a wonderful place but also very dangerous. Don't make a habit of giving third party apps permission to view your details or post to your timeline.
Think safety, browse safely.

beautiful destruction
as peaceful as death
smiling in painful ending
 an heir of perdition
tipsily brawling sorrowfully
 neglecting the unmerited
longing for emptiness
clinging to futility
hanging unto a mirage
a worthless rag
then comes the end
fire crackling and flowing
voices wailing in anguish
deafening for eternity
perdition it is.

Dear Nigerian brother,
Please and please when you meet a sister and you want her attention, do not call her over like she is your servant, she is not your servant girl and is not obligated to answer you or talk to you so don't feel offended when she ignores your rude self.
Secondly do not ask for her cellphone number like its your right, it is not. Do not give her your phone and look away like she owes you her number and don't give her your number and tell her to call you  in a demanding voice. Her number is not your right.
Thirdly dear brother, when you meet that girl that excites you and you want to get to know her better please do not invite her on a date only to quiz and interview her. She has not applied for any job, if anything, you are the one applying so develop courtesy and learn "what getting to know you" means. Do not chat her up and quiz her, if you need to know more about her don't harass her with your many prying questions.
Fourthly when you are on a first date with a sister please leave marriage out of it, the matter is now cliche' and instantly passes you off as desperate. That can be a total turn off! you don't even know her!
In addition dear bros, Don't talk about dating you or marrying you like as if it a scholarship. Soldier go soldier come, you are not a one time opportunity. Also don't go forgiving her for all her passed and unconfessed sins which she did not commit against you, then place a warning of unforgiveness for future sins. She has not even agreed to date you yet! Mbok, wake up and smell reality... the sister is probably not even considering your arrogant ass!( pardon my English).
When you tell a sister that if she agrees to date or marry you, she would have no worries or lack, know that you just handed her a blank cheque she is sure to fill and you may not like it when she does.

GEJ
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan

“Civis Nigerianus Sum” - I am a citizen of Nigeria.

A Speech by H.E. Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan,
Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Delivered at Bloomberg Studios, London, United Kingdom.

Monday, 6 June 2016

Since leaving office one year and one week ago, I have had the luxury of time to be able to reflect on the future of my great country, Nigeria.

So today is not about my personal memories or a litany of ‘what ifs’. No! Today I would like to share with you what I believe is the key learning from my experiences for the future of democracy not only in Nigeria but also across the entire continent of Africa.

I said before the last election that my political ambition was not worth the blood of one Nigerian.

I was true to my word when on March 16th, 2015, just after the election, when the results were still being collated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), I called my opponent, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) to concede, in order to avoid any conflict and ensure a peaceful transition of power.

This was without precedent in my country and I am proud that it achieved my goal of no conflict arising from the result of the election.

Lara was exited to be home again, its been 6 months now since she returned to Nigeria to start her new job at an oil and gas firm in Lagos. Being in the U.K had been a challenging but beautiful experience for her. She had matured in so many ways apart from her age but nothing had affected her view of life more than an experience she had Five years ago. She exhaled at the thought of AB. He was in the past now but she wished she had handled things differently. She never got her self to move on entirely, and she knew it was time to move on. She had dated other men but nothing came of her relationships in the past five years. She shook her head...she didn't want to feel this way. She heard he had gotten married two years after she left, that ship had sailed and she wanted to desperately forget him and the sense of loss she felt when ever she thought of him to disappear. "he is married forget him!" she said to herself.  She picked up her hand bag and car keys and walked out of the room.

Lara had gotten the call from the Executive directors office, she had been summoned for a meeting which took 3 hours of brain storming on strategic steps to make the company more productive. The fruit of the three hour meeting was that Lara would have to go to Abuja for a one week meeting  , next week to meet with various stake holders. she hated such meetings especially because of the irritating old men who always tend to hold on to her hand too long and make flirtatious comments at her. but she hated the younger men who always wanted to try their muscle at intimidation before they discovered that she too could play hard ball.  Lara smiled as she walked out of her office; it was time to go home. Maybe she would  give her self a treat before she went home she thought, after all the evening  was still very young it was just 5pm. A good movie and some shopping would be nice...

STEP 1:
Work comes first, and yourself second
STEP 2
go to work in the evening after supper, weekends and holidays
STEP 3
If you can not stay in the office till late take your work home
STEP 4
Never relax during a lunch break and if you can, discuss your work at every pause
STEP 5
No amusements! they are a waste of time and disturb your concentration
STEP 6
It is better to renounce your holidays rather than waste time thinking about it
STEP 7
Never refuse an invitation but put precedence to invitations to conferences and reunions.
STEP 8
Never renounce responsibilities; take everything on your shoulders because you are indispensable.

If you follow these simple 8 steps your employer will have to look for some one to replace you soon.

chifysworld.blogspot.comLara lay on her bed thinking of what to do. She had tried every  thing possible to stop A.B from coming to her house to pick her up. She did not want the embarrassment of a cabu cabu coming to take her out. She was seriously distressed and had spent hours thinking but she wasn't able to come to a reasonable conclusion; a conclusion that wouldn't  be so obvious. She had called AB earlier and tried to dissuade him from coming to get her. She had tried to  convince him into committing to a meet up but he refused. She tossed and turned...time was passing and she dreaded every passing minute, not because AB was anticipated to be a bad date but because she was afraid of the embarrassment that could result from AB and his cabu cabu. What if some one saw her with him ? how will she introduce him? and his taxi....she considered calling the evening off then put the thought away. No she would see this through and that will be it...hopefully this will be a very short date...

AB sat on his bed...he was in high spirits. His day had been fine so far, his house project was progressing well and he had taken time to clean his place and wash his car inside out. He leaned back and laid back on the bed, hand folded into the back of his head. He couldn't wait for 4pm when he was to pick Lara up. She had called earlier to ask if they could meet up instead of him coming for her but he had insisted on coming to get her. He had been looking forward to this day for months now and he wanted it to be perfect.  AB laid on his bed staring at the ceiling, he could almost see her face clearly on the ceiling. His mind drifted to their conversation earlier...he had picked up a trace of anxiety in her voice. He wondered why but now that he thought of it, he could understand why. Even though he wasn't altogether sure, he suspected that the reason she was anxious about him coming to get her was because she was embarrassed by him. A frown appeared on AB's face at the thought that Lara could feel that way about him, not that he blamed her...he understood her challenges and what she might be going through having to merge both worlds. It is never an easy thing to do especially if the lady was from the high end. He wondered what might be if this doesn't work out but he pushed the thought away. He would concentrate on his date ...he wasn't about to spoil it...he hoped Lara would be open minded enough to accept him for who he is and not what he does... AB closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

slavery

I was in the bank the other day, and a seemingly white guy walked in and went straight to the counter by-passing the line of waiting customers. For some reasons he came  back and sat by the side.  Five minutes later a worker came to tell him to go next after the person on the front of  the queue. This caused an uproar. A lot of us couldn't understand why he had to go  next. Why can't he join the queue? Like seriously, no dark skinned African get's treated preferentially in any white  skinned country.

We by this I mean Nigerians need to learn to love our selves the way we were created. We need to understand that there is nothing special about the fairer or white skin. we are all the same people but some how the African man especially Nigerians because I am most familiar with Nigeria, are bound in some kind of mental slavery to the white skinned person. They get excited and stare, the alter their accent for them, they are nicer to them but tend to be the opposite of all these things to their  fellow Nija person. Mehn y'all got to chill and reconsider. These people know that a lot of us Nigerians get silly around them and so they manipulate our silliness to their advantage.

Even our girls sef want to born half cast ooooo. That's why one yeye yello skinned african oyibo man want to form abrodie for me.  and am like " come of it man!"

African are created to be beautiful, elegant , proud, hard working people. we are not mean or hostile especially not to ourselves. slave trade is over. Please lets free ourselves from the mental slavery. Be proudly African. Love Africa; your skin, your hair, your culture; even your name! Stop answering funny names you can't even tell its meaning. African names are always meaningful and better than meaningless flashy names.

So basically this is a wake up call to all my African Brothers and Sisters to free themselves from every mental slavery that ties them bound to the White skinned man. This is a call to think African, walk African , Love Africa and Be African.

#proudlyAfrican
