HOOKED 2

Lara walked out of the gates of her estate. Her eyes unconsciously travelled towards the direction of the taxi drivers boarding passengers headed to Wuse. This was the third time she had done that this morning, even though she couldn't understand why she had to keep looking over there. She had decided a hundred times not to give the cute ebony cabbie another thought. She had to concentrate on other things. More over she was not even available. "what!" she thought "did I just think that". Another thought of the cute cabbie crossed her mind again and Lara found herself smiling. "too bad she won't be going to wuse today...am sure he would lookout for me too bad I won't be there" she thought to herself with a pang of regret and pity that she didn't warn him. " What! " she thought to herself." what is up with me today! this guy is not in the least bit date-able by her standards" She had to stoop this nonsense! she shook her head as if to shake the thought of the cabbie off. she turned the opposite direction hailed a taxi going to Lugbe that was where she was to work for the day and she doesn't owe any one any explanation. With time she should forget the cabbie and his cute smile....if she ignored seeing him...she should...

***********************************************************************************AB slammed his horns wildly at the driver in front of him. He had woken up in high spirits today and high anticipation of seeing the pretty lady. "what was it she said she did for a living again?" He thought to himself. He took a quick glance at his wrist watch again...7:58 it read. he hoped he wouldn't miss her. This was about the time she came out yesterday...the time she said she normally comes out. He tried to move a little faster he was almost there although he doubted if he would make it in time enough with the traffic light holding him against his will at a complete stand still for almost two minutes that seemed a life time long.

8:10, AB pulled over at the Gwarimpa bus stop. His eyes darted wildly scanning the area to see for any sign of the pretty lady from yesterday. He looked all over the place but no sign. He wondered if she had already gone to work. AB sat on the bonnet of his car with a heavy sigh...he was disappointed. He had missed her. Anyway he knew the area within which she worked, he just might run into her again if he could get the time right.

"Wuse" he yelled with as much strength as he had as if to yell off the frustration he felt from not seeing her. He had looked up to seeing her all night up until now. "wuse" he yelled again. "what is it self....must he see her?" How did he come to become so attached to her...he didn't even know her name. AB got up and walked away yelling "Wuse wuse wuse" as if to walk away from the thought of the pretty lady who is really pretty and hot. He knew he had to cast the idea out of his mind, there was no way a girl like her would ever give him a second thought as a friend not to talk of anything else. He resolved to focus on his hustle despite his deepening disappointment. "wuse, wuse wuse". His day had begun he had to face it....maybe he would forget her...if he kept missing her like this morning, he should.

It's been about a week now since she came across the cabbie. Lara wondered to her self. she wondered if she would see the cabbie again. He hardly came to mind these days except when she was about to take a taxi. And every time she hailed a cabbie she unconsciously checked to see if he was the cabbie with the cute smile and was constantly disappointed. She Hailed a taxi "Wuse" she said and peered into the vehicle to see if the driver might by some chance happen to be the cute cabbie. " enter nah!" the cabbie yelled jolting Lara from her thoughts. She opened the font door, slid in and shut the door. she had a pissed off look on her face and an attitude as cold as ice that must have chilled good manners into the cabbie . He cast a quick glance at Lara who did not glance back. "good morning m-ma" he stuttered. "good morning" she replied with a cold attitude the driver seemed unnerved. Lara could see the effect she had on the driver from the corner of her eye and was enjoying every bit of it. He was rude and deserved it. What she couldn't understand was what she was so pissed about. she maintained her ice cold attitude until she alighted from the cab. she had to stop this. she wasn't up for relationships moreover Mendes was there. He had been there so long she felt sorry for him. Nine years is a long time to wait he was still waiting and refused to let her be. She pushed the thought of the cute cabbie to the back of her mind...perhaps it was a good thing if she doesn't see him again. Maybe then she could forget.

AB drove down to the wuse bus stop. passengers jumped down from his taxi as he looked across the street. she wasn't there as usual. He had been looking out for her every morning and evening but hadn't had much luck. No matter how much he tried to be there at the right time. He was beginning to wonder if she actually lived there. He was tired of the disappointment he felt every time he looked out for her and didn't see her. He was even more tired of disappointing himself. AB looked again to see some one who looked just like her a few feet away in front of him. He looked again, it was her he jumped out of his taxi, Adrenalin pumping through his vein he opened his mouth to call out to her but wasn't sure what name to call her...he didn't know her name...he paused to think. Then he quickly yelled "hey!" but she didn't look. She just got into a taxi. AB stood stunned, as he watched the taxi drive off with her in it. He felt like chasing after the taxi but that would be foolish "Wuse" a passenger asked jolting him from his thoughts "ehen enter" he answered in bit of a rude manner which he immediately regretted. his frustrations were beginning to build and right now he felt his frustrations reach its peak one wrong move and it will spill over. Naturally he should have forgotten all about her. But he hadn't. He had been even more resolved to see her. Now that he had seen her again, he knew he was in trouble. He would never be able to be at complete peace until he saw her again. Why he felt that way....he had to find out..."yes" he thought "that, and her name"....
